“Dear PoPville,
On Sunday, October 6th our dog was attacked by an off-leash dog north of intersection of Kennedy and 5th Streets NW. The dog was a female pitbull with tan and white markings. The owner was a young male and had a thick red collar and rope leash in his hand. He suffered scrapings on his knees and hands from helping break up the fight. The pitbull had some bleeding on her ear.
We are working with Animal Control at the Humane Rescue Alliance to try to identify the owner, (more…)

Shortly before 8 pm, several hours after the shooting that injured the female juvenile at 7th and O NW in the afternoon, there was a second exchange of bullets a block away, on the 1500 block of 6th Street, NW. There was gunfire from one car at another, as several passersby took cover. Customers on the Orange, Blue, and Silver lines will encounter significant delays throughout the day, Monday, October 7, due to an overnight rear-end train collision outside Farragut West. There were no passengers aboard the trains, which were being moved to their home rail yards.
Metro is strongly encouraging customers on these lines to consider using alternate travel modes today to avoid delays. (more…)
