“Dear PoPville,
This is maddening. Jack Evans is trying to block Call Your Mother from opening in Georgetown on 35th Street, stating that it’s “too successful” for the neighborhood.
Jacks letter to the Zoning Board, first reported by The Hoya.
You mess with my bagels? This is war.”

To celebrate DC native Haili Blassingame’s debut novel, THEY ALL FALL IN LOVE AT THE END, Lost City Books is throwing a launch party themed around messy love stories. Haili, and a crew of writers she has assembled, will read excerpts from their work, but there will also be audience participation in the form of anonymously submitting messy dating stories. It’s going to be a night of laughter, of gasps, of books, of great company. Refreshments will be available. We can’t wait to see you there!

“Dear PoPville,
Tonight, October 31st at around 8:30pm there was an armed robbery in the 1300 block of Columbia road. The heavy police presence in the vicinity peaked my interest, but something was clearly wrong when a black sedan carrying 4 passengers ran a red light at 11th and Harvard, almost t-boning me through the intersection at twice the speed limit. Thanks to Tracey for sending: “Hope this snake currently wiggling itself down the sidewalk on 20th St in Kalorama Triangle isn’t venomous!”
Anyone recognize what type this is?

Another reader forwarded a report that the shooting was closer to Florida Ave.
