Been getting tons of queries about that super low helicopter spotted all over Takoma, Silver Spring, Chevy Chase and elsewhere today. From the NNSA:

“The U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) will conduct low-altitude helicopter flights over downtown Washington, D.C. and areas in and around the Nation’s capital beginning on October 19 in preparation for the Presidential Inauguration. The inauguration is scheduled to take place on January 20, 2021. (more…)

From Lettie Gooch:

“15 years ago this month we signed a lease to open our very first women’s clothing boutique on 9th ST in Shaw.  We are honored to be able to celebrate this milestone and be part of local retail in DC’s vibrant U ST/SHAW corridor.  It’s also been 5 years since we opened our current location, and like many businesses in our community, neighbors and friends, we are adapting.

Dear PoPville

“Dear PoPville,

My husband and I were at Market Common Clarendon today (Sunday), and came back to our car to find a “parking notice” from Colonial with a fine attached to it. It doesn’t seem like it’s a “real” ticket, but I’m wondering if there are any consequences to us just not paying it (acknowledging that they would probably try to send it to collections). Looks like someone asked this back in 2012, but wondering if anyone has more recent experience.”

H Street NE

4th and H Street, NE

Thanks to Colleen for sending: “there appears to be a permit and ongoing construction at the old Driftwood Kitchen/True Orleans location at 400 H Street Northeast. Driftwood Kitchen closed on New Year’s Day 2018, and the building has sat empty ever since. Word on H Street is this might be a crab shack restaurant (but don’t know for sure)!” (more…)

Yesterday there were 16,370 total positives.

Ed. Note: Comments have been closed because the broken record has become redundant, at best. Please continue to wear a face covering when you leave home and get tested if you are not well or think you have been exposed.
