“Dear PoPville,

The SW Safeway has been closed since 7pm yesterday? Has anyone said what happened?”

Another reader reported around 6:30pm last night: “The Waterfront Safeway just closed unexpectedly. The doors were shut for people trying to enter. Customers leaving said they were told it was for “a maintenance issue.”

Anyone else hear anything?

The celebration will include music, recognition, community gathering, and a special tribute to the symbolic legacy of Ron McNair — astronaut, physicist, and saxophonist.
