DC Water

From DC Water:

“All DC Water customers in the impact area under the precautionary boil water advisory can use tap water for all purposes after following the instructions provided below.

DC Water issued the precautionary boil water advisory on Thursday, June 12, as a conservative measure to protect public health due to a loss of power at a pumping station. This led to a temporary loss of water pressure in the impacted area and was not associated with a water main break. We sincerely appreciate our customers’ patience while we have taken the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of the tap water we deliver.

DC Water lifted the precautionary boil water advisory after tests confirmed that drinking water meets all water quality safety standards. (more…)

Animal Fix

Meet Booger — a 19-pound long-haired legend with a heart full of love and just enough sass to keep things interesting. At 8 years old, this calm and cuddly gentleman has mastered the art of the snuggle—and will absolutely insist on touching you all night like the clingy (and charming) shadow he is.

Booger may be shy at first, but once he settles in, he’s all in: headbutts, purrs, and laser pointer standoffs included. Whether he’s curled up next to you in bed or dramatically taking down his beloved catnip banana, Booger is happiest doing whatever you’re doing—as long as he gets to be near you.

He’s chill, playful, and gloriously fluffy. Daily brushing? Required. Personal space? Optional. Booger is the ultimate emotional support cat with big main character energy. 💅

Meet Brent! 🐾

This 1-year-old, 56-pound Boxer/Lab mix is the whole package: handsome, hilarious, and heart-meltingly sweet. Brent’s got the perfect combo of goofball energy and snuggly charm—and he’s ready to share it all with you.

He’s a champion fetcher, a zoomie enthusiast, and a toy connoisseur. He’ll return that ball as many times as your arm allows (and then some). When playtime winds down, Brent becomes a total cuddlebug, happiest snoozing at your side like the loyal lovebug he is.

Brent is house-trained, responds to commands like “sit,” “stay,” and “leave it,” and is trustworthy outside of the crate. He’s a fast learner, eager to please, and always down for whatever you’re doing—walks, Netflix, or neighborhood dog hangs.

Friendly with other pups and full of tail-wagging joy, Brent is looking for someone who’s ready to laugh a lot, cuddle often, and throw the occasional tennis ball.

The first annual Consortium art show

For one weekend in September, a private mansion in Upper Georgetown becomes the most beautiful room in Washington. Work by women artists, hung salon-style the way Paris did it a century ago: floor to ceiling, frame to frame, every wall alive. Sculpture on the mantels. Paintings up the staircase. Art where art is meant to live, in a home, among people, with a glass in your hand.
