“U.S. Army Military District of Washington will be participating in the U.S. Army 250th Birthday Festival and Parade, Saturday, June 14.

Due to the incoming military aircraft to support operations, you will notice an increase in noise from June 10-15. The celebration will include several aerial performances from aircraft such as, the UH-60 Black Hawk, AH-64 Apache and the CH-47 Chinook.

From DDOT:

“The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is scheduled to begin streetscape work on Connecticut Avenue NW between S Street and California Street starting Monday, June 23, 2025, weather permitting. This marks the first phase of the Connecticut Avenue Streetscape and Deckover Project. The deckover portion of the project is expected to begin in late July.

Construction will begin in the median between S Street and California Street NW, followed by work on the small island between T Street and California Street NW. Sidewalk construction is scheduled to begin in early Fall.
