“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announce an arrest has been made in a homicide that occurred on Thursday, November 26, 2020, in the 2900 block of Connecticut Avenue, Northwest.

At approximately 9:29 am, members of the Second District responded to the listed location for the report of an unconscious person. Upon arrival, members located an adult male inside an apartment suffering from a gunshot wound. (more…)


Announcement

Local rising kindergartener, Phin, has advanced to the Top 5 in his group in the national Jr. Ranger Contest, a competition that celebrates children who are passionate about nature, wildlife, and exploration. After making it through earlier rounds with strong family and friend support, Phin is now in 4th place and working toward the top spot needed to move on to the quarterfinals.

The contest encourages kids to engage with the outdoors and highlights their curiosity and love for learning about the natural world. For Phin and his family, this experience has been both exciting and meaningful, made even more special by the encouragement from friends, neighbors, and the broader community.

DC Fire & EMS reported around 6:30pm last night: “Crash with car into building 1200 block Alabama Ave SE. #DCsBravest on scene with SUV into 3 story apartment building with apparent structural damage. 1 patient inside vehicle not trapped. Building being evacuated.

#DCsBravest believe the luckiest person in DC this evening is the gentleman sitting in this room when an SUV plowed thru the wall. Amazingly, he did not suffer major injuries.” (more…)
