So today [Tuesday] we had two gentlemen knock at our door and ask if we’d like to have some fine frozen meats — they were promising a very good deal. First it sounded off. But then I thought in COVID times, they might be small businesses owners getting creative to make ends meet. So I asked hubby to see what they had and make sure he only had some cash (limited amount — couldn’t spend much). They pulled up their minivan, marked with “Capital Meats Company” and started pulling out frozen fine cuts, pushing him to get these “unbelievable deals” for hundreds of dollars. (more…)

“PSA: Dan’s Cafe in #AdamsMorgan is reopening their doors on Fri & Sat evenings! @PitchersDC has generously allowed them to use their menu to comply with food rules. So glad we could help them navigate the rules to reopen safely! Welcome back!”

Dan’s Cafe originally planned to reopen during phase three. Hopefully these legends get some patio seating out front too.

DC Fire & EMS reported: “Original call received 12:41 AM. Approximately 75 personnel with 20 pieces of equipment responded and operated on scene.”

“Update 2 Alarm fire 2600 block 31st NW. Original fire structure largely collapsed with fire knocked down other than hotspots. Interior hose lines extinguishing fire in adjacent home. No injuries reported. This photo was on arrival.”

Harrison Jones writes around 1am: “The massive column of fire and smoke from a multiple alarm fire in a massive single family home in NW DC is visible on radar currently.”
