Dear PoPville

“Dear PoPville,

This weekend I was walking relatively early in the morning when I came across a street-parked vehicle with the driver’s side window broken in and the airbag removed. It was relatively early in the morning and it didn’t look like anyone had discovered the break-in yet, since there was still glass on the driver’s seat and the street.

So, I called the DC Police Non-Emergency Line to report the break-in. I don’t know exactly what I expected, but I figured that (more…)

Fundraiser

“Dear PoPville,

I would LOVE to add some new books to the shelves when kids come back to school – I can’t think of a better way to welcome them back to their library! Daily reading for pleasure and information is such a critical part of literacy development, and the best way for me to help my students become passionate, proficient readers is stock the school library with books they just can’t put down.

I’ve purchased what I can afford out of pocket, but there are so many new, amazing, diverse books that I created a DonorsChoose project in case anyone wants to help me add to the library shelves. Until August 26th, DonorsChoose will double donations up to $50 with the code LIFTOFF.”
