MPD reported 9:18pm Wed. night: “Alert: Shooting investigation in the area of 3rd and F Street NW. Avoid the area. Details to come.”
NBC News reported:
“Two staff members of Israel’s embassy in Washington, D.C., were shot dead outside the district’s Capital Jewish Museum on Wednesday night, officials said.
The suspect shouted “Free, free Palestine” while in police custody and “implied” that he committed the shooting, Washington Police Chief Pamela Smith said. He was identified as Elias Rodriguez, in his early 30s, of Chicago.”

The DC Concert Orchestra presents Portraits in Time, the last concert in our season themed A World Mosaic. The concert runs approximately 90 minutes with one 15 minute intermission. DCCO commissioned a new work by DC composer Blair Goins. There will be interactive discussions with the composer Blair Goins at performance time and after the concert. Good news from WMATA:
“Automatic Train Operation (ATO) is coming to the Green and Yellow lines on Friday, May 23 after rigorous internal training and testing and concurrence from the Washington Metrorail Safety Commission.
ATO controls a train’s acceleration, deceleration, and speed. Trains get signal and speed commands from equipment located between the tracks for a smoother ride, enhanced safety, and improved on-time performance. (more…)
