A Bison Celebration is part of the Smithsonian Institution’s commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. I’m genuinely curious if anyone has insight into this. Over the past six months, I’ve submitted approximately two to three 311 requests regarding various issues( potholes, missed trash collection) most recently a recurring road hazard near a school.
Today, I submitted a new request concerning a street obstruction that has persisted since October 20th. The issue involves cone barriers placed by a production company in the middle of a school zone, significantly limiting vehicle access and creating unsafe conditions for students. Parents and school staff have repeatedly moved the cones to restore safe passage, only for the production crew to reposition them.
What’s particularly concerning is a pattern I’ve noticed with recent 311 submissions: they’re marked as “closed” or “resolved” within minutes; (more…)
