“We’re excited to announce that PopUp Bagels, the “Not Famous, but Known®” bagel shop, will open its first Washington D.C. store in Georgetown at 1078 Wisconsin Avenue NW on March 27.
PopUp Bagels has quickly become one of the most talked-about new bagel shops, with recent openings from coast to coast in Atlanta, LA, Nashville, and beyond. We’re so excited to have a presence here in DC with the same HOT, whole bagels and rotating schmears made to Grip, Rip and Dip®. The Georgetown location is the first of 20 locations planned across Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, yet to come. (more…)

ICA Language Services (ICA), a family-owned, woman-led small business based in Arlington, is celebrating its 40th anniversary, marking decades of supporting the U.S. military and diplomatic community through language training and testing.
Founded in April 1986 as Inlingua Foreign Language Center, a 6-classroom language school, ICA expanded under the leadership of Deidre Doyle, an entrepreneur with a background in organizational management who joined the company the same year. As a military spouse, she had developed a deep understanding of military organizations and culture, helping shape ICA into a trusted provider of language training and testing for military professionals. Doyle became a partner in 1993 and sole owner in 2009, when she changed the name to ICA Language Services.

“Beans & Bánh Mì is a counter service coffee and sandwich concept featuring Vietnamese cà phê and bánh mì. This concept is the brainchild of Vietnamese American siblings Ha-Hoa Hamano and Nam Dang, and college friend Hudson Tang.”
The ANC Rep for the area, Ashley Schapitl, had posted:
“There was a shootout in our ANC last night. A family with kids is looking to move after 15 years here. A neighbor who has lived here 30 years said he’s never heard so many shots. I wish our mayoral candidates would stop pretending the District’s violent crime crisis is fixed.
Update: MPD recovered nearly 100 shell casings from this scene—horrifying. Local leaders are taking this with the seriousness it demands, and I want to thank @DCPoliceDept @LAppiah @Wendell_Felder @charlesallen for their work to investigate the incident and its root causes.”
“Statement From Councilmember Felder on March 14th Hill East Incident
The shooting that took place in Hill East the evening of Saturday March 14th was an upsetting experience for neighbors, and my thoughts go out to the families who were put in this dangerous situation. Since being made aware of the incident, I’ve visited the site and been in conversations with residents who live in the area. Residents have shared that they’ve repeatedly contacted MPD regarding this location and have submitted multiple 311 requests related to abandoned vehicles, trash accumulation, and illegal dumping nearby.
