Multiple readers reported around 5pm yesterday (Wednesday):
“H street closed. Cyclist being strapped into gurney *right* in front of the H street ghost bike. Report is she hit the tram tracks, went over the handlebars, and was subsequently struck by a car. Driver fled. some signs of movement but blood everywhere. Head injuries. Helmet crushed. clearly not good, and on way to hospital. Really Not good. Heart goes out.”

“The Third District is currently investigating a stabbing in the 1900 block of 9th Street NW. An adult male has been transported to an area hospital with a severe laceration to the neck area. Officers and detectives are continuing to investigate this incident.
Motorists and pedestrians should avoid this area if possible.
Anyone with information is asked to call 202-727-9099.”
