“Third District is currently investigating a Road Rage incident that involved gunshots in the area of 11th St and Park Rd NW. The occupant of a vehicle fired shots at another motorist, striking the vehicle. There are no injuries reported at this time. Our preliminary lookout is for a dark 4 door vehicle fleeing the area west on Park Road. Motorists and pedestrians can expect road closures in the area as we investigate. Anyone with information is asked to call 202-727-9099.”

A reader reports: “Shooting occurred around 5:45PM at the corner of 11th and Park Road NW. Three shots fired from one car to another, both drove off. Cops on scene now and have everything tapped off. I witnessed the shooting while walking my puppy.

BikeDC

M Street, NW between 18th and 19th

Update from DDOT:

“Not a two-way cycle track! This is actually an extended sidewalk to provide additional walking space on that block, where sidewalks are very narrow. The bike lane was then shifted.”

Thanks to Bourbon for sending: “It looks like M St in Dupont is getting a two-way bike lane! It could also be a streatery too, I suppose. It is strange that they don’t have the other directional paint up.” (more…)

Dear PoPville

“Dear PoPville,

My ballot status was updated to “ballot returned” within a reasonable time after mailing (about 6-7 days), but has been sitting in that purgatory since then. I’ve seen some chatter on other mail-in ballot threads that ballots had moved to “accepted” or “under review” within a few days after going to “ballot returned,” but mine has been sitting at “ballot returned” for 15+ days now. Anyone else experiencing this kind of lengthy delay before moving to “accepted” (or other statuses)? How long have other people’s ballots taken to move on from “ballot returned?” (more…)

Burleith

“Dear PoPville,

We live in the Burleith/Glover Park area and two young men – likely students – stole our Biden-Harris sign from our front yard last night. Our neighborhood is full of student group houses and these guys fit the demographic.

Hoping to spread the word (1) in case someone finds our abandoned sign in the neighborhood, (2) to let them know that you’re caught on video, and (3) we are just going to buy another sign which simply puts more money into the campaign. (more…)
