“Dear PoPville,

Sometime in the past several months, dedicated bus lanes were installed in the 14th street corridor through Columbia Heights. This means what used to be two lanes for combined traffic now is one lane each for cars and buses/bikes. This is a great way to increase bus efficiency. One major caveat – this requires buses to use the dedicated bus lane and for that lane to be clear for them to do so. (more…)

“Yesterday afternoon, at approximately 3:47 pm First District officers responded to the 100 block of 11th Street NE for the report of a robbery. Officers located the victim who reported that 4-6 juvenile males wearing dark clothing approached him. The victim was then struck in the face and his wallet was taken. The victim was treated on scene by DCFEMS. The suspects were last seen fleeing westbound through the alley. Officers and Detectives, with further investigation, were able to identify and arrest one juvenile in connection with the robbery. (more…)

“The District’s reported data for Tuesday, December 29, 2020 includes 223 new positive coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, bringing the District’s overall positive case total to 28,758.

The District reported that five additional residents lost their lives due to COVID-19.
