Thanks to 20003ist for the Greek Deli closure update last night: “Signs are off.” And Kevin quickly confirmed “Reopening tomorrow.” [Today].

Washingtonian reported:

“Luckily, a medium-term solution has been reached. A variance was delivered from the Mayor’s Office on Tuesday afternoon allowing the Greek Deli to share neighbor Nooshi’s restrooms through April 2020. (more…)

But seriously, this sounds bonkers all around.

Brendan reports:

“At around 1pm today, the manager of the Chopt in Union Station assaulted a customer upset that he’d been waiting half an hour for a salad he’d called ahead for that they were late to make. The Manager tried to take his phone, made a mess, and wrestled w/the Customer. The customer was allowed to leave after police were called. The Manager was taken away in Handcuffs.

It was insane. All the guy did was get upset that his salad was late, and say he was gonna write a bad review. Both of which he’s entitled to do. The Manager went nuts on him.”

The new restaurant is located in the Shops at Park Village at the intersection of Alabama Ave SE and Stanton Rd SE (1571 Alabama Ave SE). Normal hours of operation will be 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days per week.

Thanks to Brooke for sending:

“I know the hours at Spoon have been unpredictable at best, but this is the first I’ve heard that they’re permanently closed. Bummer if it’s true. I liked having a no frills fro yo place in the neighborhood.”

I called the phone number from their facebook and it was disconnected. Updates when we learn what becomes of the space.
