Thanks to Jes for sending the above on Friday:

“Not sure what’s going on at the Moroccan place but some layers have been peeled back. I think it’s still going to be the Moroccan place, but they gutted the inside too.”

It appears to be a banana?!?!?

From Moreland’s:

“The weather is changing and we are celebrating with a good ole fashioned Spring Fling! (Imagine high school semi-formal… but with a bar and a band!) FREE LIVE MUSIC by The Reed Appleweed Trio!!”

Yesterday morning I posted about the prolonged closure of CRISP. In a stroke of coincidence and good fortune Eater got some more details later that afternoon:

“Bloomingdale’s Fried Chicken Place Is Turning Into an Italian Bar With Board Games

Crisp, the Bloomingdale bar and restaurant known for its Nashville hot wings and chicken sandwiches, is scratching its longtime poultry theme. New owners of the two-story property plan to flip it into a new bar called Hopscotch.”

Apropos of nothing, as it is Friday post Mueller and I am dragging, allow me to share one of my favorite tv commercials from my youth, which my friends and I would mimic for hours. (more…)

1200 New Hampshire Ave, NW courtesy Meiwah

Yesterday we learned that Meiwah would be closing May 14 after 20 years at 1200 New Hampshire Ave, NW at M Street.

“I talked with a Meiwah staffer today and apparently the joint’s *moving* to a venue somewhere downtown.”

I have no idea what percentage to allot this, so I’ll just say – fingers crossed and stay tuned!!

Uptown Market is still coming! Whew. Their website says:
