From an email:

“The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington invites you to the 2025 Annual Walk with Mary in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas to celebrate her feast day. This beautiful celebration will take place on Saturday, December 13, 2025. The procession will depart at 11:00 a.m. from the Shrine of the Sacred Heart (16th Street & Park Road, NW), to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception (4th Street & Michigan Avenue, NE). The rosary and Mass will follow with Cardinal Robert McElroy as the principal celebrant and Bishop Evelio Menjívar as the homilist.

This year, in light of the current immigration situation, many faithful will be unable to attend. We encourage you to invite your friends and fellow parishioners to take their place; their presence will be a sign of solidarity and of our shared commitment to the dignity of every person. Let us walk together with Mary and pray for our migrant and refugee brothers and sisters, all united as one family of faith!

As the pilgrims process through the streets of Columbia Heights and Park View, MPD will be stopping traffic and neighbors will briefly be unable to enter or exit their street parking spots. Please plan any travel ahead of time if you are in the neighborhood from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sidewalks and bike lanes will remain unaffected.
