LA TEJANA shared the update on Friday:
“Next week will be our last week operating nighttime service. Don’t worry, breakfast isn’t going anywhere – our plan is to expand our breakfast and catering operations and build on what we do best. The closure of nighttime is due to several factors
– sleepy weeknights, limited space/seating configurations, and the impending loss of our streatery which will slash our seating capacity during warmer months – among other reasons. We put the decision off for the longest time because the idea of our team losing hours/their jobs was a tough one to swallow – and we are proud of what we built! We will dearly miss our beloved bartender Anderson and server/jack-of-all-trades Roger (the only person to work every single job at La Tejana in his 3 years here, a true legend), but we’re reshuffling staffing to keep as many familiar faces around as we possibly can. We’re open tonight and tomorrow and regular PM schedule next week (Weds-Sat 5p- 9:30p) – so if you were ever planning on pulling up then now is the time!! ❤️❤️❤️”
La Tejana launched nighttime service back in May 2024:
“La Tejana is now a breakfast taco carry out by day and a neighborhood cocktail bar by night
We’ve always dreamt of making the most out of our brick and mortar and expanding our operations to include a bar, and everything seemed to click at exactly the right time when we met our opening bar manager Jose Cox a couple months back. Jose is truly a bad man behind the bar – an encyclopedia of agave spirits, a cocktail alchemist, and a natural people person – the exact type of dude you want pull up to shoot the breeze with over a drink or three We don’t yet know what life our bar will take on, it’s a fluid amoeba of sorts, similar to how our nomadic pop-up grew into our now brick and mortar and has taken on a life of its own. We welcome this growth with an open heart and mind and are so excited to bring y’all into our space in this capacity.”
La Tejana opened here in Mount Pleasant back in August 2022.
3211 Mount Pleasant St, NW was previously home to Sabydee, Zabver and Adam Express.
