“On November 23,2019, Creative Grounds DC, a unique art space and coffee bar will finally open its doors to the public. The two-storey, approximately 2,000 square-foot space located in the Bloomingdale neighborhood of Washington, D.C. is a community space for teaching and showcasing art while serving ethically sourced coffee and food goods from local vendors.

Husband and wife duo, Kenn Blagburn and Asmara Sium originally conceived this project in 2017, in response to the need for more enriching organized activities for Bloomingdale’s increasing family and child population, and as a permanent space for galvanizing and promoting D.C.’s unique arts and cultural communities. “The Visitor Parking Pass (VPP) program is designed to allow guests of District residents to park for more than two hours on Residential Permit Parking or RPP-zoned blocks. A VPP is only valid during the hours of RPP enforcement and in the same RPP zone and ANC boundary as the residence. The passes are not necessary on holidays or other times when parking restrictions are not subject to enforcement.

Event

To celebrate DC native Haili Blassingame’s debut novel, THEY ALL FALL IN LOVE AT THE END, Lost City Books is throwing a launch party themed around messy love stories. Haili, and a crew of writers she has assembled, will read excerpts from their work, but there will also be audience participation in the form of anonymously submitting messy dating stories. It’s going to be a night of laughter, of gasps, of books, of great company. Refreshments will be available. We can’t wait to see you there!
