I’ve been getting tons of photos from folks showing groups of people clustered together in parks, playing sports, etc. Yes, yes, we should get outside and get fresh air. However, when doing so social distancing still must be practiced our WE ARE GOING TO BE SCREWED. So please do enjoy a bike ride, a hike, a jog, a walk but please do it responsibly. [God that’s a sentence I never thought I’d type.]

Event

To celebrate DC native Haili Blassingame’s debut novel, THEY ALL FALL IN LOVE AT THE END, Lost City Books is throwing a launch party themed around messy love stories. Haili, and a crew of writers she has assembled, will read excerpts from their work, but there will also be audience participation in the form of anonymously submitting messy dating stories. It’s going to be a night of laughter, of gasps, of books, of great company. Refreshments will be available. We can’t wait to see you there!

I am supposed to move at the end of the month to a new apartment. Do you think a shelter in place order would prevent that from happening? Would my movers be able to operate?”

Matt replied to OPs query: “We’re in a similar situation — my partner is in the process of moving out of her apartment at the end of the month and into mine. I’ve been seeking this information too, and have found that in Italy, at least, moving is considered an essential activity and is permitted”

This new world we’re living in is still taking shape but the realities of what’s coming are well known. It is no secret that a sledgehammer is coming to hit me and other local media too. I have been really lucky in that I have a little safety net due to those who’ve already been Patreon supporters. Since I am a one man show you guys are my only safety net, there is nobody else to fall back on. These past days have been a blur as I try to manage the site, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram…and my kids. But through it all I’ve seen good humor, support and amazing bonds that have been built over 13 years. These past days have shown that we are an amazing community and we have each others back.

For those who’ve already had my back I can’t thank you enough. Times are about to get way tougher. For many obviously. But if you have found PoPville to be a valuable resource, and you have a steady job with a steady paycheck and only if that’s the case, please consider contributing so that our community will not be in jeopardy in the future.
