“Tthe chief executives of the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia held a joint call to discuss the coronavirus (COVID-19) response throughout the region. The call included a push for concerted effort on testing in the region, a regional framework on business impacts, and ongoing coordinated messaging to encourage residents to be good neighbors by staying at home. The Mayor and the Governors agreed to continue to advocate for more resources and leadership from the federal government to meet immediate needs like testing supplies and direct financial assistance to cities, counties and states.
My partner and I are now both working from home during isolation and while we thought the dogs would enjoy more company around, one of our dogs has been acting out. This week, he’s chewed a shoe up, took a sweet potato pocket off my plate and today woke up to him chewing on a stuffed animal my girlfriend has had for 30+ years–all things he never did until this week. We’ve been playing with them more, taking them on longer walks than we typically would and yet he still misbehaves. He has dozens of toys to chew so he’s not lacking in that department. Just curious if anyone else is noticing their animal’s behavior changing at all. Does he need more alone time to balance out all the time we are spending home? Any reader advice or experience would be appreciated.“

I need a recommendation for a DC-barred attorney specializing in boundary disputes involving property lines.
In a nutshell, we recently bought a house in DC and had a survey done, as we are planning some improvements. We found out that the fence on our property next to our neighbor”s house doesn’t extend to the full edge of our property line, and our lot actually extends about 500 – 800 sq feet farther than the fence (this is shown on the survey we did and on both recorded plats). I live near Sherwood Recreation Center park in Ward Six by the H Street Corridor, which was shuttered a few days ago by the city. A small group of parents and children have started congregating in a parking lot adjacent to the park. While most adults (not all!) are keeping a distance of six feet from each other, children from different households continue to play together. So, germs continue jumping from household to household, defeating the purpose of closing the park to enforce social distancing measures. I am sure this scene is playing out in shuttered parks across the city. (more…)
