“The District’s reported data for Tuesday, September 1, 2020 includes 28 new positive coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, bringing the District’s overall positive case total to 14,077.

The District reported one additional COVID-19 related death.

· 64-year-old female

Tragically, 608 District residents have lost their lives due to COVID-19.

The community spread chart is subject to fluctuation because the data is based on symptom onset date. As national demand for testing increases and results take longer to come back in DC and across the country, DC Health has identified a need to increase the reporting lag time by four days to reduce volatility in the data. The most recent data reflects an increase in community spread. To ensure this graph accurately reflects the most recent data, the community spread count is being paused as these adjustments are made.” (more…)

Located at 100 V Street SW, the Capitol Riverfront Drive-in will transform the Buzzard Point parking lot into an outdoor cinema with six showings of hit movies. “The Third District is currently investigating a shooting in the 1400 block of V Street nw. An adult female has been transported to an area hospital with a non life threatening gunshot wound to the leg.

Motorists and pedestrians can expect road closures in the area as we investigate.
