“The District’s reported data for Sunday, February 21, 2021 includes 107 new positive coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, bringing the District’s overall positive case total to 39,755.

The District reported no additional lives lost to COVID-19.

Tragically, 995 District residents have lost their lives due to COVID-19.

Last night the Mayor’s Office sent:

“Mayor Muriel Bowser will deploy the District Snow Team overnight to treat roads in advance of snow, and possibly sleet, predicted to begin falling on Monday between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. While overnight air and pavement temperatures are expected to hover at freezing, they will rise later in the day. And while it is possible to see half an inch to one inch of accumulation, the snow or sleet is likely to end by 11:00 a.m. (more…)

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch and Agents from the Metropolitan Police Department’s (MPD) Internal Affairs Bureau are investigating a homicide and an officer involved shooting that occurred on Friday, February 19, 2021, in the 6000 block of Chillum Place, Northeast.

At approximately 5:58 pm, members of the Fourth District responded to the listed location for the report of an unconscious person. Upon arrival, officers observed a suspect armed with a firearm. After the suspect ignored multiple commands, an officer discharged their firearm striking the suspect. Additionally, officers located an adult male, in front of an establishment, suffering from a gunshot wound. (more…)
