Going through an old box of family papers I found a notebook of my great-grandmother’s. The notebook was from M.S. Ginn & Co., 918-920 14th St. NW. “Some retail news from Trinidad, Montello Market is making steady progress towards opening in the former Jabbo’s Compack Market space at 1613 Montello Avenue NE (Closed Late Summer 2025)
The building facade is now yellow and they retained the two Christopher Lynch murals and original Jabbo’s signage along Holbrook Terrace NW.
A gentleman inside said they were aiming to be open by December 1st, 2025 at the latest, likely sooner though.”
