So, what theme from the National Restaurant Group would you like to see here… Seriously, where’s your favorite spot for steak?

From Poste Brasserie:

“It’s true! Swing by to say your goodbyes, because we [sadly] will be closing our doors on May 31st!”

The Washington Post reported:

Poste Moderne Brasserie first opened in the Hotel Monaco in Penn Quarter in 2002, housed in the former mail sorting room of a 19th-century post office. It became one of D.C.’s favorite outdoor spots, with a courtyard known for its fire pits and garden…The patio will close April 25, the same day Poste will cease serving weekday lunch.”

Anthony sends on Saturday from the CityVista sweetgreen on 5th Street: “thanks for the roach in my salad. DO NOT get the Spicy Sabzi”.

It can happen anywhere but God Damn that’s an upsetting photo…

But to sweetgreen’s credit they did reply to OP:

“hey anthony, this is not cool and we’re so sorry…we’re going to make this right.”

halal
814 H Street, NE

Thanks to Meghan for sending word: “they’re coming to 814 H St NE! Loved their food cart in NYC.” The Halal Guys’ website says:

“From humble beginnings as a New York City hot dog cart to a world-renowned international restaurant chain, The Halal Guys story is the quintessential American Dream. The Halal Guys is defining a new, thriving segment for the restaurant industry: American Halal Food!

The Halal Guys legend began in 1990, when the three founding partners opened up a hot dog cart on West 53rd & 6th Avenue in New York City. As business grew, they recognized a huge demand from Muslim cab drivers looking for a halal food meal. That is when the famous platter of chicken and gyro over rice was born. And let’s not forget about the famous white and red sauces!

Fast-forward 25 years, five carts, two New York City restaurants, and millions of diverse customers served, The Halal Guys is growing yet again. Fans no longer have to be in NYC to experience The Halal Guys as they look to share American Halal Food all over the country and the world.”

Check out their menu here.
