From a press release:

“Local favorite Andy’s Pizza unexpectedly closed for good on April 3rd, but the beloved pizza place is back and better than ever! Andy’s Pizza is proud to announce the grand opening of its new flagship store in Shaw, right across from its first-ever DC location and the 9:30 club.

“We built a full bar, with all of our favorite things,” says Andy. You can find draft beer, cocktails, frozen cocktails, a soda machine that dispenses highballs, a 12-foot refrigerated wall of craft and local beers, and to top it all off a wall of 200+ retail-priced “pizza wines” available to take home or to drink in the spacious bar and enormous covered patio. “We want this to be the place where groups gather – start with a few people and a bottle of wine, a few people join with a bucket of beer and a few more bottles of wine, order a couple of pies and then go out and have fun in all that Shaw has to offer. A flexible space for people just looking for a good time in a relaxed atmosphere!”

The grand opening party is on both Friday and Saturday, April 14th and 15th, all day and all night. Buy any drink at the bar and get any of their classic slices on the house – 4pm to 3am on Friday and 12pm to 3am on Saturday. (more…)

From Bread Furst’s Mark Furstenberg:

“Although I have never imagined expanding Bread Furst in any way, an overture from the Phillips Collection was more than I could resist.

All of us at the bakery are proud that we are taking over the cafe inside the Phillips Collection. I have been a long time member at The Phillips and a long time resident of Dupont Circle.

We will offer a selection of everything we offer at the bakery on upper Connecticut Avenue including breads, pastries, sandwiches, salads, and coffee. (more…)
