I’m hoping to crowd source bars in DC that will be showing The Bachelor premiere (with sound!) on January 6. I’ve tried reaching out to a few bars but haven’t gotten any responses. We have a group that’s looking for a spot, but not sure if there’s anywhere we can go.”
I’d try calling Stoney’s for sure. Any other spots you’d think would be amenable?

The new restaurant and bar, which pays homage to the Hiltons’ D.C.-area roots, replaces the former Gaslight Tavern.

Since Vegetate closed in 2009 the space has become an Ethiopian restaurant called Cafe Eagle then Taqueria Mexicana then an Ethiopian Sports Bar and Restaurant named Eagle (again) then was renamed Northern Restaurant. In July of 2012 Secret Lounge and Sports Bar opened up but closed in Nov. 2013. In February 2017 Choa Ku closed after opening in June 2016. In July 2017 Imm Thai opened and closed in August 2019.

Southern Hospitality closed after 7 years here back in July. The space was previously home to Adams Mill Bar and Grill which closed back in 2011. But the big potential news comes from a recent ANC meeting (thanks to Gordon Chaffin for the heads up about it) – Ben Sislen – an Adams Morgan resident and one of the owners of the excellent The Crown & Crow in Logan Circle said that he is in the process of looking at bringing a sports bar with betting to the former Southern Hospitality space. And all I can say is STAY TUNED!!

Had this on scuttlebutt for a week or so but I’ve now confirmed directly with Ri Ra:
“We will be closing at the end of January 2020.”

Thanks to Kipp for sending the latest: “The end is here for the Commodore on 11th st (and P St) NW. They’re taking out all their furniture today.” The Commodore shall be missed.
