This is crazy, a reader reports on Saturday:
“Another casualty on 19th St between K and L. They’re packing it up today.”
This Bold Bite only opened back in October. This space is also formerly home to a Red Robin and Boloco burritos.
A call to the store immediately goes to a “user not available” message. The location is still listed on their website. Did anyone happen to notice if they were open this morning?
STAY TUNED.

Ken reports:
“I noticed that construction workers were putting up signage at the old Eatsa place at 17th/K NW. According to the signs, it’s a place called Taqueria/Local Taqueria. Their website just has a coming soon and a way to apply for jobs. Hopefully it’ll last longer than Eatsa!”
Eatsa’s “fully-automated faster food experience” closed back in October. Updates as the Taqueria gets closer to opening.

Stone Fish Grill opened in the former Balletto space at 17th and L Street, NW back in 2013.

From Stonefish’s Website:

A few weeks ago we learned that Naan and Beyond was moving from L Street to Vermont Ave in the former Juice Joint space.

Apparently they’ve also opened a food truck in the interim:

Stay tuned for updates as both locations get closer to opening.

Thanks to Jessica for reporting:
“FYI, Zen Taco opened today.
Had the taco chinos; I’d give it a solid B. The same owners and staff as Custom Fuel, which is nice to see. Clearly some first day kinks to work out, but should be a great addition to the neighborhood. And their prices seem a bit lower than the menu online for the NYC location.
Also – they have frozen margaritas!”

From an email:
“After almost 20 years in business, Cafe Ole will be closing on January 31st. Fannie Mae is moving downtown and the building is being redeveloped. It has been a great run and we would like to thank all of our customers for making it such a success. Please come by for a last meal and a toast to the future!
Cafe Ole is currently located at 4000 Wisconsin Avenue, NW. We are looking for a new home!”

Diet Starts Monday opened up back in May. This space was an empty lot next to Marvin and turned into Blackbyrd Warehouse which was built and opened back in 2011. Then it became a Vietnamese Restaurant and Pho house (Hanoi House) in 2012, and Marvin also expanded into the upstairs space in 2012, then it briefly housed a Maketto residency before becoming Den of Thieves and then briefly The BBQ Joint.
Did anyone ever go to ‘Diet Starts Monday’?
