Last week we learned that the Valero had closed at 14th and W and it looked like Panino Gourmet sandwiches was next. Alas, I walked by on Saturday and indeed Panino was fenced off. The super sad part was the sign saying – come celebrate Cinco de Mayo: (more…)

“I went to Panino Gourmet Sunday and all of the pumps/fill-up areas at the Valero were ripped out of the ground and were gone; some temporary fencing was erected where they had been. Fearing for the future of Panino I asked if they knew what was going on and they conveyed the message that the building would probably be torn down soon and with it Panino. We knew sandwiches were coming back to the former Fast Gourmet space and now we got a name – Panino Gourmet. They couldn’t say exactly when they’d be opening but it looked like only days or a couple weeks out. STAY TUNED.

A reader reports:
“Beer & Welding sandwiches in Dupont is closed. I stopped by today, the Oasis Market guy said that they were “undergoing a change in management” or something to that effect and could re-open in a few months. It didn’t seem promising.”
Beer and Welding sandwich shop opened up in Oasis Market back in April with very positive reviews. Their last day was Jan. 22nd.
