MPD wrote: “The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a traffic fatality that occurred on April 1, 2021 at approximately 3:15 pm in the 900 block of Kennedy Street NW. Anyone with information or video is asked to contact the Metropolitan Police Department at 202-727-9099.”

Thanks to Frances for sending: “It’s the former Japanese Embassy chef’s new venture. I tried the sushi and it was delicious! They also serve paninis, smoothies, pastries, and Ethiopian coffee! A welcome addition to Kennedy St! I had lunch from there yesterday and the sushi was phenomenal!!!!”

From Roots and Blooms: “Welcome Mita cafe! We are partnering with Local caterer Mita cafe run by Chef Ionue – former Japanese embassy chef offering breakfast menu and freshly made sushi, hot drinks ethiopian coffee and pastries. She writes: “I just moved to Petworth about 10 days ago, and yesterday I passed the new location for Taqueria Distrito Federal – 805 Kennedy, so a block or so off Georgia. Here’s a picture. I’m excited! Never eaten there before, but it’s just a couple blocks from where I live and on my walk home, so… won’t be long!”
