Last fall you featured a short article highlighting that Routes and Root is coming to Kennedy St NW. I wanted to reach out because we’re getting closer to bringing Routes and Root to life and I couldn’t be more excited.

Our goal is to create a bar and eatery that brings something innovative and unique to DC’s food scene—a place where great food, thoughtfully crafted cocktails, and culture come together to create a true neighborhood gathering space.

We’ve recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise the remaining funds needed to complete our renovations and get our doors open. (more…)

“I’m excited to share that I have leased 701 Kennedy St NW with my spouse Sam Fitz and our great friend, Chef and professional forager Iulian Fortu. We hope to open the space this Winter as a wine bar and small restaurant with wines and ciders made, under Sam’s direction, by ANXO Cider, paired with plates from Chef Iulian that will feature foraged and farmed ingredients of exceptional quality, with a focus on local and transparent sourcing. Windows are papered over – there was a for lease sign up for a month but that was recently taken down too. I’m starting to hear some sweet rumblings of what’s to come but hopefully will know more soon – stay tuned!
