Tenleytown

From a press release:

“Marv’s Dogs, the long-awaited new concept from Cork Wine Bar owners Diane Gross and Khalid Pitts, will officially open in Tenleytown on Wednesday, May 13. The nostalgia-driven hot dog shop is inspired by Diane Gross’ childhood memories of getting hot dogs with her father, Marv. The restaurant’s signature “Marv’s Favorite” pays tribute to those experiences with a classic Chicago-style hot dog topped with secret relish, onions, pickle, peppers, and celery salt on a potato poppyseed bun. “Dear PoPville,

The Starbucks that was here closed (I think last summer when they closed all those Starbucks across the country?) and since then there has been cardboard paper covering the windows with the front door having a contractor sign in. I was walking past it two days ago and saw the cardboard was ripped through the window so I took a peek and (more…)

They say they haven’t been told exactly when the closure will be but it will be soon AND it will be for six months or so! All in all this is good news as the space was clearly having difficulty keep a tenant: (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

The Maryland Condominium wanted to give a shoutout to City Wildlife’s April Linton and Autumn Autumn Klinge for their help in safely securing a nesting duck and her family.

About a month ago, we discovered a mallard had laid her eggs in one of our rooftop’s gardens. Upon discovery, we were recommended to CW, who IMMEDIATELY came over and built an enclosure around the nest. One month later, and just in time for Mother’s Day, the babies hatched. (more…)
