Thanks to Andrew for sending above from Trinidad. And thanks to Danielle for sending below from Columbia Heights:

“It was buried under a pile of weeds for most of the winter and spring, and then someone weeded the area and properly unearthed it (but left it in place). Today I randomly noticed that a broccoli plant appears to be growing underneath (more…)

Major cleanup at the Tenleytown Whole Foods. Thanks to David for sending last night around 7pm:

“Overhead pipe burst in Whole Foods today, making a mess of their produce section. I was only able to photograph the aftermath…”

Anyone happen to see how it’s looking this morning?

Adams Morgan

“Dear PoPville,

Not sure how long this change has been in effect but I’ve seen at least two drivers who didn’t know that Ontario Rd NW in Adams Morgan switched to one way. Big clue for those folks must’ve the missing traffic light signal facing that direction as they waited – and waited – to make a left turn onto Columbia, but by that point they were committed.”

Dear PoPville

“Dear PoPville,

I’m a park roller skater and I moved into the city about a year and a half ago. I was in Arlington for a while and had access to many more parks and while I love Shaw Skate park all I really want is a half pipe to practice tricks on. I’ve talked to quite a few rollerskaters in the area and none of us have seen one. If anyone in DC has a secret half pipe in their yard or knows of one anywhere please let me know! I’d be happy to help with maintenance costs or otherwise pitch in to have one to use regularly!”

Ed. Note: “Did you know there is a National Park in DC with roller skating? Now you do.”

BikeDC

“Dear PoPville,

Does anyone know why the Capital Bikeshare station on 20th St between P and O St NW isn’t working? I haven’t been able to dock or take a bike from this station for over a week, and I’ve seen others have trouble. It doesn’t show up on the app anymore (pic attached), even though there are about 20 bikes there.”

Ed. Note: In happier bikeshare news m. sends us yesterday: (more…)
