Astro Jump of Metro DC now offers trackless train rentals for events across Washington, DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland.
The trackless train is available for school events, festivals, corporate events, and private parties, and can operate on parking lots, roads, and other paved surfaces. The train includes four passenger cars that comfortably fit both children and adults, making it a versatile attraction for a wide range of event types.

“The Metropolitan Police Department announces an increased reward for information in the homicide of an intern working for a member of the United States House of Representatives. The reward has been increased thanks to a contribution from our partners at the FBI Washington Field Office.
On Monday, June 30, 2025, at approximately 10:28 p.m., Third District officers responded to the sound of gunshots in the 1200 block of 7th Street, Northwest. Officers located one adult male unconscious, and an adult female and a 16-year-old male conscious and breathing suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS responded and transported all three victims to area hospitals.
On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, after all lifesaving measures failed, the adult male victim succumbed to his injuries at a hospital. The decedent has been identified as 21-year-old Eric Tarpinian-Jachym, of Granby, Massachusetts. (more…)

Our family created this place of ours to be a neighborhood hub of LeDroit Park: super casual, minimal rules, good drinks and food that we’d enjoy in our own home. Our primary focus was to be a community coffee shop during the day and a corner cocktail bar at night, all while providing quality food.

Local rising kindergartener, Phin, has advanced to the Top 5 in his group in the national Jr. Ranger Contest, a competition that celebrates children who are passionate about nature, wildlife, and exploration. After making it through earlier rounds with strong family and friend support, Phin is now in 4th place and working toward the top spot needed to move on to the quarterfinals.
The contest encourages kids to engage with the outdoors and highlights their curiosity and love for learning about the natural world. For Phin and his family, this experience has been both exciting and meaningful, made even more special by the encouragement from friends, neighbors, and the broader community.
