Alert DC warned: “At 5:44 PM, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain will move across the warned area. Rain may have not started, but expected rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches in 20 minutes are anticipated. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.”

Evan writes: “The infamous area under the metro bridge over Rhode Island Ave. was about 2 feet deep.
There was a basically a river coming down 4th street. A low sedan had water coming over the hood into their interior further down the hill.”
AND from Alert DC: “The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Tornado Warning for the north central District of Columbia until 7PM.
HAZARD: Tornado.
