“Shortly after 1pm today, we received a call for gunshots heard in the vicinity of the 1300 block of Half Street, SW. Our officers were in the area and responded to the block. We located a male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the court yard area. He was ultimately pronounced dead and our Homicide Unit assumed the investigation. As of now we have a look out for a black male, thin in stature, wearing dark clothing.
We ask that anyone with information or video regarding this incident call us immediately and share that with us. Please call 202-727-9099 or text us at 50411. As always information leading to the successful prosecution of homicide cases may be eligible for rewards up to $25,000.”
NBC Washington reported: “A 15-year-old boy (Thomas Johnson) was shot and killed near Nationals Park Wednesday afternoon, hours before thousands of Nats fans were set to attend a playoffs watch party at the stadium.”

“On Wednesday October 9, 2019 at approximately 2143 hours police officers from the Fifth District responded to a call for a shooting on the 1600 block of Rosedale St NE. Once on scene the officers located two adult male who had sustained traumatic injuries and were unconscious and not responsive. This is an active investigation being conducted by detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department Violent Crimes Bureau. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact MPD at 202-727-9099.”

“On 10/9/19, at approximately 1:40 a.m., officers from the First District responded to the 600 block of 4th Place SW for a report of a home invasion. The homeowner of the residence was awakened to find an adult male suspect tampering with his rear patio door. As the homeowner called for MPD to respond, the suspect shattered the patio door glass with a shovel and entered the home. The homeowner confronted the suspect, still armed with the shovel, and the two began to fight. (more…)
