From MPD:

“On 10/9/19, at approximately 1:40 a.m., officers from the First District responded to the 600 block of 4th Place SW for a report of a home invasion. The homeowner of the residence was awakened to find an adult male suspect tampering with his rear patio door. As the homeowner called for MPD to respond, the suspect shattered the patio door glass with a shovel and entered the home. The homeowner confronted the suspect, still armed with the shovel, and the two began to fight.

First District Officer Zachary Speck made it to the scene and was able to to get the suspect apprehended before he could flee the location. Both the homeowner and the suspect sustained minor injuries in the incident. Between the tenacity of the homeowner and the quick response by Officer Speck, this incident is closed with arrest.

While an arrest has been made, First District Detectives will continue to investigate the matter to prepare for prosecution. Should anyone have additional information or video that might be related, please contact the First District Detectives office at (202) 299-2025, or the Metropolitan Police Department’s Command Information Center at (202) 727-9099.”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
