“Dear PoPville,
I witnessed a crime (yes, I’ve called the police and reported) and I wanted to let others know to be on the look out for this man.
I was walking east on Mass ave between 7th and 6th NW (In front of Soul Cycle, across from Farmers/Distillers) Thursday at 2pm and I saw a man run up behind a woman who was clearly on the phone distracted and start taking photos up her gym shorts. (more…)

From WMATA:
“Metro General Manager Paul J. Wiedefeld today accepted a recommendation of the transit authority’s Pandemic Task Force that face coverings or masks be required when traveling on Metro effective Monday, May 18. The move strengthens Metro’s position on the matter, which has “strongly recommended” the use of face coverings since early April, in accordance with CDC guidance. While the overwhelming majority of riders already comply voluntarily, the requirement is viewed as a necessary step as Metro plans for an eventual recovery with more riders using the system. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,
We’re looking to do outdoor day trips/hikes but having a hard time finding options or actually what is open.I’m assuming people aren’t sharing bc they don’t want it to get crowded but is there a way to check easily? Each park site is confusing and I don’t know what is closed?”
“Dear PoPville,
This morning I took my dog out and noticed a couple penny’s on our front stoop. We checked the security camera from last night and it captured this person who stopped and abruptly threw penny’s onto our stoop. Were we marked by some bizarre penny cult? I’d be curious what stories Popville readers might come up with for why this happened. These are weird times.”

“Dear PoPville,
Interesting guidance coming from the Y. This is the first I’ve heard that members would be required to wear a mask when working out. I support this but I imagine some will complain. I don’t think I would have problems wearing a mask when working out but maybe that’s a sign I don’t work out that hard?”
