From the Smithsonian’s National Zoo:

“He was quiet and sleepy while we took his measurements. This week, he seemed to experience a growth spurt. He weighed 2.07 kilograms (4.5 pounds)–nearly a pound more than last week–and measured 15 inches from nose to tail tip. Our plump panda added an entire inch around his midsection! His abdominal girth measured 12.5 inches Sept. 30. Yesterday, that increased to 13.7 inches. All in all, we are happy that our cub is making good gains, and his growth and development are right on track.”

“Dear PoPville,

I’m wondering if anyone else is having issues with unemployment back pay? I haven’t received any payments since early July. I’ve emailed and called DOES with no answers. Any ideas?
Can I get Mayor Bowser to help? Or can I force Wmata to give me the $400 on my metro card because I a) don’t have a job to travel to, and b) need the money.

Any advice would be appreciated!”

Thanks to a reader for passing on from NASA:

“Let your friends and neighbors know, because Space Station passes don’t get much better than this. Go outside at 7:03pm and you’re sure to see it- with a pass this high you don’t even need to worry about what direction you’re facing (90 degrees is directly overhead- 80 degrees is nearly indistinguishable).”

Crime

“Dear PoPville,

My friend’s Ring video camera caught a man peeping into her windows and trying to record her with his cellphone last night around 11:45PM in the area of 17th and U Streets NW. Her upstairs neighbor told her last week that she saw a man in a green hat (same as the one in the photos) staring into her windows. The man left when her husband walked out onto their balcony. She set up the video camera after that. [See video here.] A police report has been filed.”

Update from MPD:

“MPD seeks assistance in identifying a suspect in a Peeping Tom offense that occurred on 10/7/20 in the 1700 blk of Willard Street, NW.
