Thanks to Wendy and Chris for sending starting around 4:30pm: “this is a sample of the large police presence and unmarked cars at Days Inn in Van Ness”

Update from Kristen: “I was there dropping off an Avis car out back- the Avis guy said they found some suspicious items in a car (he specifically mentioned gas masks)”

“Dear PoPville,

Did the Burger King on Connecticut Avenue finally close? It’s disappeared from GrubHub/DoorDash and the website says “closed” for every day of the week now.”

Not sure what’s going on with the websites but every time I walk by the Burger King has been open for take out and drive thru. STAY TUNED.

If you’ve never been blessed to see some amazing photos of the inside here.

From Mary Cheh:

“Earlier today, I stopped by my neighborhood bakery for what I thought would just be a moment, and my car was stolen. No one was harmed and and MPD is in search of my vehicle.

These things can happen in an instant, they are crimes of opportunity, so I urge everyone to stay alert and take precautions–like double checking that your car is locked, never leave it running, and using anti-theft devices. (more…)

Thanks to Andrew for passing on the glorious news from Calvert Woodley:

“Beginning next Monday, July 6th, our hours will be extended to 11:00 am – 7:00 pm Monday through Saturday, and 11:00 am – 5:00 pm on Sunday. We will continue to offer curbside pickup and delivery.

We plan to follow some new guidelines in an effort to maintain the safety of our customers and staff. Customers will be allowed into the store in smaller groups so as not to exceed 15 customers in the store at one time. We will require customers to wear masks, we will be stepping up our sanitizing efforts, and we will ask everyone to maintain safe distances.”
