The Royal shares yesterday:

“10 YEARS! ✨ In the summer of 2015 (June to be exact), the Royal opened its doors.

Our family created this place of ours to be a neighborhood hub of LeDroit Park: super casual, minimal rules, good drinks and food that we’d enjoy in our own home. Our primary focus was to be a community coffee shop during the day and a corner cocktail bar at night, all while providing quality food.

We’ve stayed very true to this, however we were surprised at how much you all embraced our Latin and Colombian-inspired food menu, so much so that food became our biggest seller! (more…)

“Indian and Nepali restaurant Nanglo is coming to 1301 H St NE. From the owners of Himalayan Doko. Alero is opening at 202 Florida Ave NE instead.

Ed. Note: In February we broke the news that a raze application was issued for the new building previously and briefly home to Alfresco Tap and Grill in Adams Morgan. At that time I was told that the new owners plan to “completely raze the building and build a mixed use building with retail space at ground level and condos for sale/rent above street level”.

Thanks to Jay for sending: “Alfresco Tap and Grill to be demolished. Alfresco Tap and Grill was just finished a few years ago. What a waste of resources.”
