From a press release:
“Tamashaa Indian Restaurant, a rising icon in Washington DC’s vibrant culinary landscape, proudly announces the launch of its dynamic new menu—an innovative blend of traditional Indian flavors and modern global influences. Carefully crafted by Director of Culinary, Chef Manoj Goel, the new menu features over 40 imaginative dishes, redefining Indian dining with flair, flavor, and finesse.

Tamashaa has gained acclaim for its artful presentations, elevated interpretations of Indian street food, and commitment to culinary excellence. With this new menu, the restaurant continues to push the boundaries of flavor while staying rooted in India’s rich culinary heritage. “Our goal was to create a dining experience that’s not only rooted in Indian authenticity but also resonates with the evolving tastes of global diners,” said Chef Manoj Goel. “This menu is a vibrant expression of innovation, nostalgia, and culinary storytelling.”

The small plates offer guests a bold introduction to Tamashaa’s new culinary journey. From the tangy and colorful Crispy Okra Sweet Potato Chaat to the theatrical Panipuri Shots served with guava and pineapple water, the experience is playful and elevated. Other must-try dishes include Multigrain Sev Puri with avocado and cranberry, Pulled Jackfruit Bao for the plant-forward palate, Kerala Fried Chicken with a punch of curry leaf essence, and Old Monk Haldi Chili Fish infused with coastal flavors and dark rum.

The Tandoor & Grill section takes India’s ancient clay oven tradition and reimagines it with bold global flair. Signature dishes include Truffle Malai Broccoli marinated in truffle oil and cream cheese, Kasundi Seabass seasoned with fermented mustard, and Jama Masjid Seekh Lamb, a tribute to Old Delhi’s famed kebabs.
The Large Plates section offers a deeper dive into regional Indian cuisines with a modern twist. Highlights include Goat Vindaloo with Granny Smith apple koshimbir, the velvety Makhmali Saag Paneer, Soft-Shell Crab in Coconut Curry, and Tamashaa’s signature Black Dal, slow-simmered for hours to develop unparalleled richness.
In a nod to India’s bread culture, Tamashaa introduces its Bread Bar, featuring inventive options such as Amul Cheese & Onion Kulcha and Black Garlic Naan, served with unique house-made chutneys like Raw Mango Harissa, Gooseberry Cilantro, and Bombay Tadka Guacamole.
For rice lovers, the Tamashaa Biryani Selection—available in vegetable, chicken, lamb, or shrimp—offers a fragrant centerpiece rich in spice and aroma. Meanwhile, indulgent mains like Lamb Nihari, Masala Lobster, and Andhra Fish Curry showcase the restaurant’s commitment to bold regional representation with luxury execution.
Tamashaa’s culinary artistry is further reflected in its signature creations like the Mushroom Cappuccino with curry foam and Pistachio-Crusted Lamb Chops finished with saffron glaze, presenting India’s flavor profile through a contemporary, global lens.
With this new menu, Tamashaa invites Washington, DC’s food lovers to rediscover Indian cuisine as a sensory journey—where every dish tells a story, and every flavor evokes a connection to tradition, innovation, and identity.”
