“Dear PoPville,
Just a heads up, there’s been a rash of package thefts in the neighborhood since Tuesday. I contacted MPD and filed a report as I had 3 packages stolen yesterday, but I recommend folks stay vigilant and keep a close eye on any deliveries coming up. I hope the thief was happy with my… office supplies?”

Update: Missed connection married :(
“Dear PoPville,
I was walking down Q Street between 15th and 16th St NW last night around 6:45pm (February 4) and a cute guy walked by with his golden retriever puppy. We chatted about the dog for a minute or two; he said she was three and a half months old and apologized when she tried to pull my scarf off. I wish I’d asked for the guy’s name but didn’t get the chance – here’s hoping he sees this and remembers the girl who stopped to say hi to him and his dog! (more…)

14th and Rhode Island Ave, NW
“Dear PoPville,
Any idea what’s been going on at the Holiday Inn at 15th and Rhode Island NW? Without trying to sound hyperbolic there seems to be an ambulance at the hotel daily. Hard to imagine the hotel is full of tourists, so wondering if the city has converted it to house ill patients from the hospital or converted it into some public hotel/housing? THere also seems to be shuttle busses that come and go from the hotel. Any ideas?”

“Dear PoPville,
I just met a lovely older gentleman named Roger who is looking for his missing cat named Jeanette, pictured on the right in the attached flyer (the second cat pictured on the left was also lost but has been found!) (more…)

“Dear PoPville,
A guy frequently walks his two dogs around Logan Circle. I have never seen the dogs on leash. One of them ran up to my dog, and the guy did nothing. What if my dog were anxious or reactive? It’s impossible to walk a dog past them because they take up the entire sidewalk. If you want to walk your dogs off leash, move to a farm.”
From the Department of Health: “No person owning, keeping, or having custody of a dog in the District shall permit the dog to be on any public space in the District, other than a dog park established by section 9a of the Animal Control Act of 1979, passed on 2nd reading on September 20, 2005 (Enrolled version of Bill 16-28), unless the dog is firmly secured by a substantial leash. The leash shall be held by a person capable of managing the dog.”
