The two local, award-winning District-based businesses are combining their respective passions for pizza and classic American barbecue to launch a brand-new New York style pie, a collaborative effort from pizza master Giulio Adriani and pit master, Rob Sonderman. The Federalist Pig Pie, available exclusively at Slice & Pie, features a base of white garlic cream sauce with smoked mozzarella, chopped brisket (a Federalist Pig specialty), roasted potato, caramelized onions, pickled jalapenos, red onions and a garlic BBQ sauce drizzle. “A Wonder spokesperson tells Eater the food halls will open off U Street (1925 14th Street NW), in Cleveland Park (3519 Connecticut Avenue NW), and in the West End in what’s currently Eat Brgz (1200 New Hampshire Avenue NW), on track to close soon. Wonder’s D.C. expansion tear will continue from there, with plans to double its store count in the future.”

“Dear PoPville,

Do you have any updates on Lou’s in Columbia Heights??

It was completely closed on Saturday afternoon, right before the NFL games were about to start.

I’ve heard from other friends they’ve been closed a lot recently (or perhaps closed permanently?)

It’s one of my favorite bars in the area so hoping it’s only temporary.”
