“Mayor Muriel Bowser celebrated the reopening of the Walter E. Washington Convention Center and joined Events DC in announcing the addition of two locally-owned vendors inside the Convention Center, Ben’s Chili Bowl and Shop Made in DC.
“We have been inviting people to come back and experience DC, and it is always important to us that visitors are able to experience the real DC. It doesn’t get more DC than Ben’s Chili Bowl or a whole shop filled with items made by DC creatives,” said Mayor Bowser. “Spread the word: DC is open and so is our Convention Center.”

“Known for serving authentic Neapolitan pizza to adoring fans in a few lucky neighborhoods, Pupatella announced today it has secured an investment of $7.5 million to expand its reach in the Washington, D.C. metro area and beyond. As many as 15 additional company-owned pizzerias are planned over the next few years.
This most recent capital raise doubles a $3.75 million raise completed in late 2018 and was secured from largely the same private investors. That previous investment led to three new pizzerias in Arlington, Reston and Washington, D.C.’s Dupont Circle opening in the span of 12 months. (more…)
