Its avant-garde, neo-retro aesthetic is a direct passport to the vibrant heart of Mexico City (CDMX) itself. Every bold bite is a testament to Mexico’s regionally diverse cuisine. The sprawling menu draws flavors, ingredients and techniques from across the country, featuring innovative dishes diners will find only at El Presidente. Friday Question of the Day: What are alternatives to saying “the Union Market area”?

When having this discussion the other day, Bikes and Pints suggested:

“Galludet District should be the name. Union Market would be a distinct name then.”

Would that work for announcing restaurants/retail coming to the area that aren’t technically in the Union Market building? Or do you prefer NoMa? or just sticking with Union Market area/district? Something else?

“Dear PoPville,

I was walking past the new Gantry development in Union Market yesterday and noticed a liquor license posted for a group called “New Restaurant Concepts Inc.” When I looked it up online I found that the principle is Sanjay Mandhaiya, the executive chef at Pappe on 14th Street. Not sure whether it’s a second location of Pappe or not but it appears he’s opening something here.” (more…)
