The weather in the district has been just as up and down as the housing inventory the past few weeks. There’s close to 300 new listings to hit the market within the past week, meaning we’re back on the upswing and the 80 degree weekend weather seems to agree. Here’s some of our suggested (and hot) Fresh Finds below:

  • At a soaring $11.2mil, your Most Expensive Home of the Week is this monstrous French Normandy style and 43,000+ sq. ft. land that includes 2 “adjacent, buildable lots,” but that price doesn’t even begin to cover the cost of the proposed mansion renderings.
  • Two bedroom/2 bathroom “Recently renovated and updated, rowhouse-style living with the price and convenience of a condo” just 2 blocks from U Street Metro.
  • Petworth condo with 2 beds and 1 bath for only $230k is your REO/Bank-Owned Property of the Week.
  • The Worst Photos of the Week go to this $2.3mil Ledroit Park listing that only has 4 photos — all of them blurry exterior shots — 1 of which is a black and white that I assume was taken in 1880 when it was first built.
  • A 1 bedroom “tastefully updated condo” less than a block away from Potomac Avenue Metro Station.

With almost 100 less listings than last week, this week’s new listing count is only 162. The demand for homes is there, so if you’re in the market for a new home, you better get out there and start looking before there’s none left. Check out some of our suggested Fresh Finds below:

Your Foreclosure of the Week is a 3 bedroom single-family home in Deanwood that appears a new construction will be more successful than any amount of renovation.

We’ve heard some agents say there’s a lack of inventory right now on the market, but just within the past seven days, there’s been 240+ homes to hit the market just in DC alone. So check out some of our suggested Fresh Finds below:

  • You know when it lists a “full floor ballroom” or “2 bedroom staff apartment” as features, this one is clearly going to be your Most Expensive Home of the Week at $8.15mil.
  • Not only does this epic Victorian row home have 6 bedrooms, spanning across 4 levels and 2,700+ square feet, but it also has an in-home art show occurring this Saturday, March 10th, from 3-7PM.
  • The listing is sold in ‘As Is’ condition for this “Great Opportunity to Continue and Complete Renovation on Traditional Petworth Row,” even though the 2 photos show very little renovation occurred in the first place.
  • A Mount Pleasant 2 bedroom condo that’s been updated and refreshed throughout the entire home.
  • It’s a small 1 bedroom condo, but it also appears in great condition and has everything you could possibly need (except decently sized storage space) for the REO/Bank Owned Property of the Week.

February is already over, meaning less than a month until the official start of the spring season. If you haven’t already started looking at homes, you better check out some of these Fresh Finds before someone else does:

  • It appears this manor near Embassy Row is having some trouble selling since it’s been listed 3 times over the past year, which is now down to the low, low price of $5.995mil for your Most Expensive Home of the Week.
  • Two units in the same Columbia Heights rowhouse each with 2 levels, 2 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms — with unit #PH-B featuring a slightly larger floor plan than unit #A.
  • I guess this is Petworth rowhouse is technically a 4-bedroom, but that ‘office’ likely won’t sleep anything other than a newborn.
  • This Mount Pleasant condo is so fresh that it’s only been on the market for a couple of hours at the time of posting.
  • Out of 3 new foreclosures, this is the only one that has photos, making this Benning Ridge end-unit the Foreclosure of the Week.

With 150+ homes hitting the market in the past week, one thing is clear–the DC market is hot and it’s only February. Check out some of our Fresh Finds below to jump on one of these properties before it’s too late:

  • At $3.9mil, The Most Expensive Home of the Week is “6,000 sq.ft. of modern Kalorama luxury. Formerly the #4 Airbnb in the world,” including 2 koi ponds, an indoor stream and waterfall as well as a heated saltwater pool.
  • An incredible detached single-family home renovation in Brookland includes 5 bedrooms, 4 levels, full lower level inlaw suite and the perfect rear deck for summertime.
  • This 1-bedroom condo in Petworth might be a good deal, but it’s one you’ll have to see in person since this is also the Worst (and blurriest) Photos of the Week.
  • Wesley Heights 2-bedroom/2.5 bathroom end-unit townhouse in “one of the most desirable neighborhoods in DC.”
  • Your REO Property of the Week is a surprisingly new-looking 3-bedroom row house in Pleasant Plains.
