“In anticipation of the District of Columbia’s Independence Day celebrations, the Bowser Administration will test the District’s Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) system on Saturday, June 22, 2019, between 11 and 11:30 a.m. The purpose of this test is to evaluate the District’s ability to send information during an emergency to a targeted geographic area – in this case, the National Mall, where most of the July 4 festivities take place. The Maryland Ave Chick Fil A opened in May 2017. Previously the space was home to a Checkers. If you’re in a pinch I’d suggest hitting the Popeyes at 1226 H Street, NE.

Lots of folks are bidding their final farewells to Meridian Pint before they close after tomorrow. Long story short, I’m told they’re running out of food today. But fear not, you can bring your own food tonight if you are planning on stopping by after 5pm for the Caps game.

“DDOT reports Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway and the Rock Creek Trail by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts will be closed to all vehicular, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic Friday, April 19 at 8 PM until Monday, April 22 at 5:30 AM. Vehicular closures will take place between Virginia Avenue NW and the Interstate 66/Potomac River Freeway interchange (behind the Lincoln Memorial). Pedestrian and bicycle closures will take place between F Street NW (at the Kennedy Center) and the Roosevelt Bridge.
