“SakuSaku Flakerie, a local, women-owned business is operating out of Al Volo in Cleveland Park (3417 Connecticut Ave, NW.) Their food is legitimately amazing and they have the old Firehook back patio for hanging out with your coffee. I’d love for them to stay and become a staple of the neighborhood and would love to get people out and supporting them.” (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I live on Euclid in Columbia Heights. Our entire building’s mail was bundled with a neighboring building and tossed at our front steps. It contained almost every mail in ballot for the November election. Lucky one of our residents noticed the bundle and brought it inside. Definitely not a normal delivery.”

From DC Board of Elections:

“Please remember that as ballots are arriving, they are being mailed in batches. Not everyone in the same household will receive their ballots on the same day.”

Update: Cancelled due to weather. More info as we get it.

From Facebook: “Well, we tried, but we never got the weather visibility we needed for the #ww2flyover so today’s flight is off. The weather was supposed to clear in time but it never cooperated with us so we will try again tomorrow at 11:30am EDT. Stay tuned for announcements in the morning. When we know, you’ll know! Keep your fingers crossed.”

From the Arsenal of Democracy Flyover:

“Approximately 65 World War II aircraft will take to the skies over Washington D.C. on September 25th. Starting at 11:30am ET, these historically sequenced warbird formations will fly over the Washington Mall in two minute intervals. The formations will represent the War’s major battles concluding with a missing man formation.”

Ed. Note: This event has been happening since at least 2015 and is definitely a sight to see.

“Dear PoPville,

After the second robbery, I realized my bars in my bedroom window were not secured, so a heavy duty Locke was placed on the bars and I installed security cameras. The cops were called both times. I have put together a few strange things that have happened last few months– (more…)
